Trusting God in the desolated times
Now Playing: Yet I will praise you - Vineyard Music
"and I will not forget that you hung on the Cross. Lord, you bled and died for me.
and if I have to suffer, I know that You've been there, and I know that You are here now. "
"Even when my heart is torn, I will trust you Lord.
Even when I feel deserted, I will trust you Lord.
Even in the darkest valleys, I will trust you Lord.
and when my world is shattered, and it seems all hope is gone.
Yet I will praise you Lord. "
In times of suffering, it is truly hard to see the beauty in our life. Yet, there is so much beauty to be found in the midst of suffering, and in ways these are the times when we can come closer to knowing God and offer up our pains for the souls of others.
As hard as it for me to acknowledge this sometimes, I pray that those in the midst of suffering can attempt to find truth, beauty, and goodness in the midst of suffering.
You are not alone in these trialled times. God loves you so much!
Even if you can't see that or feel a hint of that, I hope that you have that seed of faith that will soon blossom to something so big and beautiful.
Jesus, I trust in You.

and because some of us like "recipes" for dealing with things:
- Pray
- Let this suffering be in your prayers as an offering for special intentions
- Sing, kneel, or just sit on a pew. There is no recipe for this, God wants you as you are.
- "Prayer is not asking. Prayer is putting oneself in the hands of God, at his disposition, and listening to His voice in the depth of our hearts." - Blessed Mother Teresa
- Attend Daily Mass
- Don't be discouraged by your emotions to prevent you from going. God loves you, knows you, and wants to heal you. Let Go and Let God.
- Visit Adoration chapel (or just a chapel)
- Again, don't be discourage of passing this opportunity because of your emotions.
- Console with loved ones (do not bottle things)
- This applies to everyone differently, but do not let yourself sink from this suffering.
- Go to Confession
in a lighter tone, here are things to do:
- Be with friends and/or family (if you are ready)
- Serve others (you have a gift that can be given)
- Be outside (running, walking, biking, etc)
in a lighter lighter tone....
- Go to a Petland and play with puppies! (They let you play with them for free)
This puppy was adorable! She was so melancholic at first, because she just wanted to lay in the ground and put her head down. If I could keep her, I would name her Eeyore. I joked that she empathize with me. It brought a joy that she became playful after lots of petting.
Lastly, I would say that there are good and bad ways to deal with suffering. I pray that God grants you the ability to distinguish between the two.
You are loved!

Big Kid Little Kid Stuff
Now Playing: MercyMe - Move
Have you ever felt so stressed/anxious/scared that you felt like you were going to throw up and faint?
Nope, never!
Kidding. It actually happened recently, and it left me disheartened.
Little kid moment: Quit. Call it a day. Leave the problem. Take a nap. Take the "fun" route. Watch a movie.
Big kid moment: No snooze. Confront the problem. Carry our Cross. Coffeeeee (:P). Take the "no fun" route.
The stuff. ah.
Recently I had my first big kid interview
The day of my interview, I had the opportunity to go to Mass. The homily was all about integrity and authenticity. To be honest (hehe), it is hard to not think of rehearsing a "great" answer that may not be completely genuine. Let's be real guys!
Happy October :-)
Good food: http://mywholefoodlife.com/2013/10/12/zucchini-noodles-with-avocado-pesto/
May we pray through both consolation and desolation. "The Dark Knight of the Soul."

Trusting and Letting Go
I used to read poems. Maybe I was too busy following the "trend" of things.
Struggling to let go and let God.
As thankful as I am for the reminders that we are made for more, I want those words to really sink through.
I was reading about ways to cultivate in humility. As I read through the list, the one that made me really nervous was the one that mentioned accepting humiliation.
Ah.
May we not hide our flaws and pretend we got it all figured out.
Quote that struck me today:
"Don't compare your love story to those you watch in the movies, those are written by screen writers. Your's is written by God." -Unknown

A recap
Hi!
Now Playing: Shape of My Heart - Backstreet Boys
Time flies. Halfway through 2015! I miss blogging. I miss recapping the little moments because I realized how easy it was to take it all for granted. In ways, blogging helped me highlight the little things.
Airplanes
Something I am thankful for this past couple of months have been learning so much about aerospace. Even trying to summarize the little things I learned in the basic categories of aerospace, made me realized how it is like putting your toes into a sea of water.
For example, a turbofan (picture below). Before, I would look at this and know that it is super loud and not fun to sit near it. Now, I still think it is super loud but simultaneously so interesting.
Watching touch and goes. Don't underestimate the power of the small airplanes :P
Fun
F is for fun, free, fitness, and food!
Last Fall, we got a Whole Foods in the city. I know some people have a negative connotations with organic stores for their prices, but I think they are pretty cool for their free events.
This is green goodness. Sweet and tasty!
An awesome meal with an awesome person. The foodie in me...
You know what is the best tip I can give anyone that wants to run in a track on a hot summer day? Find out if there is a sprinkler system, and if so, go running at the same time the sprinklers go off!
Sometimes...it is much harder to go down.

FOOD SAMPLES! |
They have been holding free cooking classes this summer. Last week, only half the people that signed up for the class actually showed up. We basically got a full meal!
Carne Asada. Corn tortilla. Fresh made avocado and salsa. All organic.
Sometimes...it is much harder to go down.
