I will wait for you

So take my flesh,
and fix my eyes
a tethered mind free from the lies.

A visit to Hutchinson, Kansas

Now Playing: I Choose You by Sara Bareilles
Check out her new album from YouTube.

A couple of weeks ago, I went to the city of Hutchinson to visit a friend.  For those of you who have not ever been to this city in Kansas, here is a small peek. Please note that these are a couple of pictures from the places I drove by, and so, this post does not capture everything the city has to offer. :)

One of the 7 wonders of Kansas
:) Someday.

Painted mural downtown.
Peaceful Sunday
Far ahead, are some of the many grain elevators.
A little cafe downtown
Happy Sunday!!!

Foodie :)

It's been a while. Happy August :D
Today, I did something new. I drove a stick shift ...and I didn't crash into anything! wooo.
Needless to say, I will not be driving a stick shift by myself anytime soon.
Spontaneity. siiiiii.

This past July, I wanted to be adventurous and try new recipes.
So I looked up delicious and nutritious things.
The thing about trial and error in cooking....yeah, i believe it.

YUMMY: Vietnamese Spring Rolls
I find it interesting how rice paper works.

YUCKY: Chocolate Cake
I think I just failed to follow the recipe, or maybe it was the fact that the cake had cauliflower, beets, and tofu. It was probably me, because I've seen others succeed at baking a delicious cake with vegetables.

Better luck with sweets next time.
Good night!

All things bright and beautiful

Happy happy HAPPY Mother's Day !!!

Today, all the love and appreciation for mothers is being celebrated. Tomorrow, we continue on that celebration. :)
If you are thinking that this is a picture of the food I made  ALL BY MYSELF for mother's day, that would be incorrect. I am a pro at burning pancakes. Even on her day off, she offers to help.

You've got a friend

Quick story:

This girl is so special to me. Her love radiated so much. This was taken at an orphanage in Haiti last Summer. Our mission group didn't know what to expect as we drove to an orphanage for over an hour across the border of the D.R. and Haiti. We came to play with the kids for the day and serve them a meal. It was their first time eating a sandwich! The kids were not sure how to eat it. And you know, you hear about all these stories of mission trips and how they are based on helping others, when in reality, its the opposite way around (or even full circle). Their tender love and kindness to us was such a gift, such an admiration of what it means to be a brother and sister in Christ. They showed us what it means to approach someone without judgement, without a label, without walls and just love.

The modern world today can be so deceiving. Do I really love all those around me in the same way that these kids loved and welcomed me?

Good morning! 7 notes

First note: God is good (ALL THE TIME)!

Second note: Most of Kansas got snow in the past two days, and in some places hitting an inch below record high.

Third note: Us college kids got a 5 day weekend! It could not have come at a better time.

Fourth note: Encouraged by an angel (a new friend). I'd only only met her for 5 minutes and she had already encourage me to continue with a challenging class I was ready to drop. How amazing it is that God can use us to change other people's lives for the better?! Hope, faith, and love. To my new friend: Thank you!

Fifth note: Nanotechnology. <-- I am still trying to wrap my mind around how it works.

Sixth note: Look at this delightful treat from The Simple Veganista. I did not have all of the ingredients the recipe called out, but it still tasted delicious!

Seventh note: Do work. B-E proactive. You CAN do it!!!!!

never miss an opportunity to be kind to a stranger.
Hope, faith, and love,

-Ahhhhhh  meee

Don't try this at home

...or anywhere else.

Reheating hard-boil egg in the microwave

and under no circumstances bite into the egg!

Lesson learned.
