Bring out your inner child

and embrace it

and so it seems like I am missing a picture...

The one where I am in the midst of doing cartwheel...

Yeah about that... my timer and I were a couple of milliseconds off.

Here is the story: Beside this field is a road. Coincidentally every time I turn the timer on and ran to do a cartwheel, a car would pass by. 11 shots were taken, yeah... awkward, but funny. :]

"Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces. Smell the rain, and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential, and fight for your dreams"
-Ashley Smith

Here is the story: I thought it was warm outside when I went for a jog/take pictures. I changed my mind after 30 minutes of walking against the wind. I decided to keep jogging towards my favorite spot to watch the sunset. Turns out it was 34 degrees outside, with a windshield at 27 degrees. Brrr. It was worth it though. Lesson learned: Bring a jacket!

The little things in life

Second day back in Kansas. I went for a walk to watch the sunset like I used to back in the summer. I found this flower. I never thought the picture would turn out like this. Kansas might not have many known attractions, but the nature makes up for it.

"All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all."
"Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colors,
He made their tiny wings."
"He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well."

Song: All Things Bright And Beautiful
"Sometimes the path you're on is not as important as the direction you're heading."

Improvement

Finals are coming and I need to improve my self control. I must admit that I can easily procrastinate when I am on my computer using the internet. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Blogspot, and anything related to cooking/baking are my weaknesses. Maybe I am being a little sarcastic by using the word "weak", but it's something alike. For the next two weeks (until December 15th), I will not go on any site mentioned above. Time to improve my self control.

Things are sent to try you
But your time's coming around
So don't you stop trying"

Big City Dreams

This break, I was very lucky to get the chance to go to New York City for Thanksgiving with most of my family. We got there at midnight and lined up the streets for the Macy's Parade at 4 in the morning. If I could describe my experience in 3 words, I would say: COLD, AMAZING, and DIFFERENT. It made me appreciate the beauties of Kansas. I am posting a couple of pictures from the trip:

Fin.

I just want to tell everyone that You've Got a Friend by McFly is such a beautiful cover and the video is amazing. This makes me want to go out there and help out. If anybody has ever read the book, Angels of Mercy by Lurlene McDaniel, they would understand what an eye opening experience it is to go out there to help.

Someday. Hopefully soon.

Brand New Day

During break, while waiting for the bus, I went exploring around Union Station. I found the roof!

Amigas

First of all, I would like to say that in 15 minutes I will be taking my last exam in one of my classes. Instead of studying, I am deciding to blog about this amazing friend of mine. This friend of mine was one of the most inspirational people who brought me closer to my faith and to live my life to the fullest. I love her so much. Anyway, today I received a package from her on the mail with a birthday present and a lovely note. I cannot explain how bless I am to have her in my life.

AH I MISS HER! This winter break, our motto is:
"We are gonna bake until our ovens break". (Since we love to cook!)
She send me so many types of hot chocolate packets for cold winter days. Also, a magnetic cupcake because we both love baking.
SEE YOU SOON AMIGA!

"Good friends are like stars...you don't always get to see them, but you know where they are."

Dear Andrea,
THANK YOU!
Sincerely, Amy.

Melody

A couple of days ago, while I was walking back to my dorm room, I realized something. I don't think I've ever stopped myself from doing something so usual, like walking, to hear my surroundings. It was weird though because instead of hearing nature like I did back in Kansas, I heard cars and other unnatural noises. Although I should have expected that, I had forgotten how far I've come. It was one of those moments where I' had to make sure I was really there. Haha. The point of my story was to point out how drastically life changes with time and how the smallest observations like noises could be so precious.

"In a moment, everything can change.
Feel the wind on your shoulder."

When I am homesick or just in the mood for a song that soothes me, I like to listen to songs like this one:

"And I know that I am never alone, and I know that my heart is my home, every missing piece of me, I can find in the melody."
-Melody by Kate Earl

I made a sign!

Insert a "d" with the word "love"...

.
No caption needed.
I made a sign as a sort of motivation and reminder to stay focus with school work.
I love my family and friends. I really do.
They have helped me get here, it's my turn to show them my gratitude.

Google is right

I think Google just left me a message:

Fine Google, I WILL go running tomorrow.

P.S. Who said that running is NOT a sport? Psssh.

What? A food blog?

"In the cookie of life, friends are the chocolate chips"

Even though these are not cookies (actually muffins), they still make my life fluffy and sweet.

To the circle of life, I like to call my friends!
I cannot live without you!

Love Like Woe

I have this on my head: "I throw my hands up in the air sometimes. Saying AYO! Gotta let go! I wanna celebrate and live my life. Saying AYO! Baby, let's go!" Dynamite by Taio Cruz.
I love it!

Start all over again

Sometimes we try to seek for reassurance. We look for the little spark of light that always lead us out of a hole we call our troubles. Just remember:

Don't give up!

A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle

So I have this book called "8,789 Words of Wisdom" and I feel like sharing some quotes:)

  • "Make a difference in life."
  • "As you walk, look for miracles along the way."
  • "When you are in a hole, stop digging."
  • "When you are upset, tired, or stressed, stay away from the fridge!"
haha.
Quoting the author: "only YOU can bring wisdom to yourself".
Goodnight world!
