Preserving Authenticity

There is an impulsive desire to maintain reserve when one is in turbulence. Isn't it silly?  When I realize that most of my time and effort is set to this world alone. Key words: this world alone. How much time is wasted? To imagine this life as merely a blink to eternity. Why is so much energy placed on much that would not matter? Why does one's own heart seek the things it already knows it will not be fulfilled by?

Seems like at times, reason and heart are placed to an equation of sorts. "If I do this then factor in that plus this and that, multiplied to the coefficient of impulse divide all by risk plus fear factors would it be greater than or equal to worth it?" Keep in mind, this equation does not make sense, just made up.

Reminds me of this scene What do you want?
Is the vision to what is really important in life also blinded by our sin?

A priest once advised that one of the best methods to discern decisions was to look at it in the perspective of life and death. If you were in your deathbed, what would you do? A way to finding clarity. Makes one wonder how much of decision making is led by fear cloaked as something noble.

Sincerely,

Ahhh-me

Faith > Success
