Shine

Friday's predicted forecast: high of 70, partly sunny.

Friday's actual forecast: 50 degrees, cloudy, raining and windy.

*Insert the Rolling Stones voices* "You can't always get what you want..."

Majority of pedestrians walking without umbrellas in light sweaters, were soaked.

"but if you try sometimes, you might find..."

Just as the day hits 6 pm, the rain stops.

"You get what you need."

the clouds move on, and the sunset is visible.

C'est la vie.
There can't be rainbows without the storms.
Trust in the Lord through every trial, and you will see what He has in store for you.

P.S. I felt like the comment above sounded as if I was any better. Not at all. I, Ahh mee, need to not be so pessimistic when things like the weather do not go as I wished.

Pumpkin Goodness and a Tune

The tune of this morning went something like this.
-Like-
The only thing I did this morning was homework.
-Dislike-
Correction: It wasn't the only thing I did this morning. I prayed,  blogged, and I also made a bowl of what I like to call:

-Sweet Pumpkin Goodness-

Because my camera was put away...I used the laptop. Yeah!
  • Cottage cheese
  • Pumpkin puree
  • Cinnamon
  • Nutmeg
  • Maple syrup
  • Kashi cereal
Mix it all together and enjoy.

May God bless you today.
Happy Tuesday.

You've got mail

You know that sensation when you are about to open your mailbox wondering if there will be a surprise waiting for you inside? Though from the outside you look as calm as the cat laying near the sidewalk? Ha.

Skimming through all of the bills, ads, etc to find a handwritten envelope with a unique stamp in the corner.

What could it be?!?!

Unique handwriting? Si.
Mixed color paper? Si.
A very familiar name? Si.
Very thoughtful words? The sweetest!

Mailing letters. A way of communicating.
A way of saying:
 I love you.

Heart warming. 02/01/2012
Never miss the chance of saying, spreading, and giving Love.

I myself put it on hold sometimes. :o. Not tomorrow!

Time to go find some stamps.

Songs that get stuck in your head

Now Playing in Amy's head: We The Kings: Say You Like Me
I don't know if its the catchy tune or because this song reminds me of warm weather, but it has been on repeat for a while now...Random.

Is that happening to you right now? If so, what song? :D

In other news, today is the first day of February and it is 64 degrees in the suburbs of DC. Sunny skies! What a lovely day!

Recently, I have been searching the web for more creative healthy food blogs. It's interesting what is out there. Inspirational in the way that many share their daily food recipes with a little twist to make it delicious and nutritious.

As a college student, striving to get my daily serving of veggies and fruit is difficult . I take this challenge with the "one day at a time" motto. Don't get me wrong, this isn't a diet to lose x amount of weight. It's my way of saying: Although I am "young", I should take care of my self. The benefits are obvious, but its tough sometimes. Easy to say that we know what is right, sometimes hard to follow it.
Moderation
Luckily, today I had the time to invent a salad for lunch.
The salad with no name.

  1. Butter lettuce
  2. Mix Spring salad
  3. Mushrooms
  4. Parmessan cheese
  5. Black olives
  6. Walnuts
  7. Cucumbers
  8. Home-made croutons (Quick & Easy))
Home-made croutons
Olive oil
Salt
Pepper
Garlic
Pita bread

Directions: Slice pita bread into small chunks and place in a bowl. Insert the rest of the ingredients into bowl and mix. Place seasoned pita slices into a plate and microwave high for about 1 to 2 minutes. Wala!
