Big City Dreams

This break, I was very lucky to get the chance to go to New York City for Thanksgiving with most of my family. We got there at midnight and lined up the streets for the Macy's Parade at 4 in the morning. If I could describe my experience in 3 words, I would say: COLD, AMAZING, and DIFFERENT. It made me appreciate the beauties of Kansas. I am posting a couple of pictures from the trip:

I just want to tell everyone that You've Got a Friend by McFly is such a beautiful cover and the video is amazing. This makes me want to go out there and help out. If anybody has ever read the book, Angels of Mercy by Lurlene McDaniel, they would understand what an eye opening experience it is to go out there to help.

Someday. Hopefully soon.

Brand New Day

During break, while waiting for the bus, I went exploring around Union Station. I found the roof!

Amigas

First of all, I would like to say that in 15 minutes I will be taking my last exam in one of my classes. Instead of studying, I am deciding to blog about this amazing friend of mine. This friend of mine was one of the most inspirational people who brought me closer to my faith and to live my life to the fullest. I love her so much. Anyway, today I received a package from her on the mail with a birthday present and a lovely note. I cannot explain how bless I am to have her in my life.

AH I MISS HER! This winter break, our motto is:
"We are gonna bake until our ovens break". (Since we love to cook!)
She send me so many types of hot chocolate packets for cold winter days. Also, a magnetic cupcake because we both love baking.
SEE YOU SOON AMIGA!

"Good friends are like stars...you don't always get to see them, but you know where they are."

Dear Andrea,
THANK YOU!
Sincerely, Amy.

Melody

A couple of days ago, while I was walking back to my dorm room, I realized something. I don't think I've ever stopped myself from doing something so usual, like walking, to hear my surroundings. It was weird though because instead of hearing nature like I did back in Kansas, I heard cars and other unnatural noises. Although I should have expected that, I had forgotten how far I've come. It was one of those moments where I' had to make sure I was really there. Haha. The point of my story was to point out how drastically life changes with time and how the smallest observations like noises could be so precious.

"In a moment, everything can change.
Feel the wind on your shoulder."

When I am homesick or just in the mood for a song that soothes me, I like to listen to songs like this one:

"And I know that I am never alone, and I know that my heart is my home, every missing piece of me, I can find in the melody."

I made a sign!

Insert a "d" with the word "love"...

.
No caption needed.
I made a sign as a sort of motivation and reminder to stay focus with school work.
I love my family and friends. I really do.
They have helped me get here, it's my turn to show them my gratitude.

Google is right

I think Google just left me a message:

Fine Google, I WILL go running tomorrow.

P.S. Who said that running is NOT a sport? Psssh.

What? A food blog?

"In the cookie of life, friends are the chocolate chips"

Even though these are not cookies (actually muffins), they still make my life fluffy and sweet.

To the circle of life, I like to call my friends!
I cannot live without you!
Sincerely,

Love Like Woe

I have this on my head: "I throw my hands up in the air sometimes. Saying AYO! Gotta let go! I wanna celebrate and live my life. Saying AYO! Baby, let's go!" Dynamite by Taio Cruz.
I love it!

P.S. The title for this post is a song title by The Ready Set. It's very catchy. Ciao.
